Arsenal could make a surprise attempt to sign Diego Costa, who is a free-agent after his release from Atletico Madrid.
The Spaniard recently terminated his contract with Diego Simeone‘s side having struggled to command regular first-team football.
According to AS, Costa is open to returning to the Premier League, where he spent two-and-a-half seasons with Chelsea.
It is added that Arsenal and Wolverhampton Wanderers are among the contenders to sign him on a free transfer.
The 32-year-old was hugely successful during his time in England and he bagged 52 goals from just 89 appearances for the Blues.
His return to Atletico did not work out with just 19 goals from 81 appearances and he is hoping to redeem himself elsewhere.
Aside from the Premier League duo, Costa has been linked with a possible move to Juventus, who are eyeing a target man.
The Bianconeri have also been credited with an interest in former player Fernando Llorente, who is currently with Napoli.
