French giants Paris Saint-Germain are planning a potential deal for Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar.
Aouar was the subject of strong interest from the Gunners in the summer, but their £35m bid fell short of Lyon’s price tag (£50m).
It has been claimed that the club could make a renewed approach, but it appears that they could face stiff competition from Les Parisiens.
According to RMC Sport, Les Parisiens are in constant contact with Lyon’s hierarchy and they are looking to sign Aouar at the end of the season.
Aouar’s current deal expires in the summer of 2023 and it seems likely that Les Gones will be tempted to sell him in the near future.
Unlike Les Parisiens, the Gunners are looking into a mid-season deal for Aouar, but it is unclear whether Les Gones would consider any offers.
The club started the season on a slow note, but have picked up form and have won the previous five matches in Ligue 1.
That sees them just goal difference behind leaders Lille while they have one point more than Les Parisiens whom they beat at the weekend.
Hence, they are in a position where a title charge could be on the cards and may not want to lose Aouar, though he has not been in the best of form.
